I finished reading The Grapes of Wrath last week. The book is set in the Great Depression, but it really is timeless. The struggles of the Joad family in the face of adversity is I guess like a window into the lives of all kinds of migrant workers. Illegal immigrants to the US, migrant villagers in the crowded cities of India!
And there is a definite spirit of strength, resilience and dignity throughout the book, which is really inspiring.
